Dru Nielsen and Barrett Weisz both started their careers as Colorado State Public Defenders in 1996. Lawyers and supervisors in the bustling Colorado Springs and Denver trial offices, Dru and Barrett earned invaluable courtroom, negotiation, and trial experience. Dru and Barrett tried their first felony criminal trial together in 1998. Despite seemingly insurmountable evidence, Dru and Barrett achieved an acquittal for their client.

After many years defending hundreds of clients as public defenders, Dru and Barrett moved to private practice, committed to providing the highest level of criminal defense representation. Dru has continued to focus on criminal and white-collar defense. Over the years, she has achieved “not guilty” verdicts in several high-stakes, high-profile state and federal criminal trials. In addition to providing outstanding criminal defense, Barrett has developed a successful civil litigation practice, including personal injury and insurance bad faith. Barrett has achieved multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.
